In the second day of CEBL Free Agency, we had three different teams make signings. Each of the teams make up the Eastern Conference, who seem to be getting an early start in the window. Two of the players are multi-year returnees to the league, or even their respective teams and there is one newcomer.

Prince Oduro

One of the CEBL’s main veterans has returned once more to Brampton for his fifth consecutive season. The six foot eight big man has been an integral part of the Honey Badgers squads through thick and thin. His role hasn’t changed very much since he first arrived. A few more starts than he’s had in the past, but his presence in the paint has been very solid. He finishes decent around the rim and is underrated at the defensive end of the floor. Oduro is a double-double machine who cleans up the glass very nicely. He isn’t the flashiest player, but he plays his role and does it very well. Last season he averaged nine points, six rebounds, and a block per game.

Justin Jackson

Continuing with the veteran trend, coming back for his second consecutive year with the Ottawa Blackjacks and fifth in the league overall is Jackson. Another player who is not super flashy but plays his role super well. He is one of the more consistent shooting wings, that also plays super solid defence. His rebounding was better than it had been in the past, which was a result of playing more of the four spot than on the wing. He averaged seven points, five rebounds, and shooting 35% from three. His play resulted in a contract with the Windy City Bulls of the G-League.

Keeshawn Barthelemy

The first newcomer of the offseason is one who is in his first season of professional basketball. Barthelemy is a six foot one guard who played his collegiate basketball for Colorado and Oregon. He is a Canadian from Montreal, which means he will be playing for his hometown Alliance. Barthelemy is known for being a score first point guard, who uses his quickness to get to the basket and finish. He isn’t a slouch from deep either, shooting over 40 percent from three last year at Oregon. This first pro season is off to a decent start, as he is currently averaging 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists in the top league of Cypress.
