The month of March has already seen an uptick in player acquisitions in the CEBL. Teams are starting to fill out their rosters and build around who they feel are going to stick around for the long haul. Here are the signings for the week of the seventh:
Kevin Osawe
A return to Montreal for Osawe, which will be his second stint in the CEBL after 2025 being his first. He is more of an old school forward that does most of his damage inside the arc. As a pro, Osawe has not seen as much success shooting the ball, but has been a force in the paint. Nine points and six rebounds for the big last year which was solid starting contributions. He’s been very good in the German Pro A, the second tier in Germany which sees him averaging 17 points and eight rebounds. Interested to see if the winter season success has an impact on his play this summer and Osawe takes off as a prominent part of the Alliance.

Keon Ambrose-Hylton
Ambrose-Hylton is one of only three players so far to find a new home for 2026. The CEBL All-Canadian big was fantastic with the Edmonton Stingers last season in his first year pro. As a starter for all 23 games, averages of 14 points and eight rebounds on 64% from the floor saw him be one of the best Canadian players in the league. He is also having a similarly successful campaign in the BXNT League. Ambrose-Hylton will be a great building block for the Honey Badgers, who seem to be filling out the front court first and doing so quite nicely.
Elijah Lufile
The three time champ returns to Niagara, as it seems the main pieces from the 2025 winning squad are returning. Lufile has been a connective bench piece and spot starter for the River Lions, but did play an important role in the Championship Weekend success. There’s been a good amount of progress in his game, putting up professional career high numbers in Lebanon this winter. Lufile is a force in the paint, gobbling up rebounds and finishing well in tight. Good for Niagara to have him come back.

Justin Harmon
Harmon becomes just the second import player to sign on for the 2026 joining the BlackJacks. He finished playing his collegiate basketball at the University of Illinois and has played the last two years in the G-League for the Salt Lake City Stars. This season Harmon is on a heater, averaging 12 points and four rebounds on 50% from the floor, along with 47% from three. The connection to new coach Justin Mazzula is obvious, but it seems he believes in Harmon. I am always curious with these players who are having a fantastic season and not much sample size to see if they can keep it going.
The season starts on May 9th as the Edmonton Stingers host the Winnipeg Sea Bears.
