April has arrived and we’ve gone from zero to 100 real quick in the CEBL. Some of the biggest names the league has ever seen have returned, while others are looking at their first chance to do the same. With training camp beginning on the 30th of the month, we should be seeing an influx of players joining rosters. Here are the signings for the week of April 3rd.

Ben Stevens

The first of five signings this week was not one that was very flashy but has high upside for a Montreal Alliance squad that will need guys who are willing to do the dirty work. Stevens is like many of the bigs that I have spoken about before, in which he does all of his damage around the rim on both ends. He defends, rebounds, and finishes around the bucket very well. After a good season in 2025 off the bench, look for Stevens to get an elevated role as a starter or first man off the bench.

Dominic Parolin

We have another young Canadian coming to join the league after playing in the NCAA. Parolin spend six seasons with two schools, Lehigh and Boise State. The six foot nine big man is a versatile forward that can slide between the four and the five for his hometown Vancouver Bandits. He scores the ball inside at an above average rate, while having the capability to step outside and hit the occasional three. He rebounds at a moderate rate, while also being a decent defender inside. His biggest asset will be the versatility he brings, if he gets the opportunity to play.

Alex Fudge

Another newcomer to the CEBL, Fudge brings NBA experience to the Ottawa BlackJacks roster. The 22 year old American wing has elite athleticism that will undoubtedly be on display a few times this summer for big dunks. He does also score around the rim at a good rate. He plays above average defence and has shown upside rebounding the ball. His shooting is hit or miss, but will take an open three if it’s there. His G-League season has been spent on the bench for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, which is why I suspect he’s looking for an opportunity to show he deserves another shot in the future at the NBA this summer.

Khalil Ahmad

Mr. Clutch is back. Ahmad returns to the Niagara River Lions for a fifth season, looking to go for the three peat. He is an MVP calibre player that does it all at the guard position, shoots, defends, finds the open man, and even rebounds well for his size. He is third on the all-time scoring list at 1519 points (Regular Season and Playoffs), as well as 30 Target Score winners. He is a special player who is so much fun to watch whenever the River Lions are playing. He is one of the greats of the CEBL and it’s a treat to have him back.

Teddy Allen

The biggest surprise of the entire offseason happened on April 2nd. Teddy Allen has returned to the CEBL and it is with the Winnipeg Sea Bears. Allen was released in 2024 after he and the club could not see eye to eye. He spent the rest of the season with the Saskatchewan Rattlers (now Saskatoon Mamba). The last year and a half has been spent in the G-League with the Rio Grande Vipers and Delaware Blue Coats averaging 20 points and five rebounds. Allen was league MVP in 2023 with the Sea Bears and Winnipeg is hoping he comes ready to play, along with being willing to be next to Xavier Moon.

The season begins on May 9th when the Winnipeg Sea Bears head to Edmonton taking on the Stingers.
